Choice of carcass
Grizzly Polyester/Nylon
Superior construction for maximum performance, the polyester give a big resistance with a minimum stretching. The grizzly is easy to track and stabilize on the conveyor because of the S & Z twist fabrics. The nylon give the performance, more flexibility and resistance against perforation, ripping and impact. This is available in 2,3,4 and 5 ply with fabrics of 125 to 225 piw.
Viper Straight wrap
If you are dealing with extreme situation such as : Stone of 8’’ and more, metal recycling, car pieces, concrete recycling, etc... the Viper from LEGG is the belt that you are looking for. This belt use the fabric that is equal as a 5 fabrics of a multiply belt. Because of is unique design, this type of belt as superior resistance to cutting and perforation. This is available in 1 or 2 ply with a tension between 220 to 1500 piw.
Choice of covers compound
XT-GII : is LEGG’s premium RMA Grade II. It incorporates premium polymers with select additives to achieve superior performance over other Grade II. It has great abrasion resistance, great tensile, tear and elongation values combined with superior adhesions.
XT-MOR : is a moderately oil resistant version of the XT-GII compound. It maintains the qualities of the XT-GII while giving a secure level of oil resistance. With a 90% oil swell, it has a higher degree of oil resistance than you will find in many MOR.
GI : is a compound used where a belt will be subjected to higher abrasion situations. It has high cut and gouge resistance and is generally used in rock handling applications. Legg Company’s GI meets or exceeds the requirements of the Rubber Manufacturers Association for Grade-I Belting.
GI-P : is a premium RMA Grade-I compound formulated for use in very abusive applications where large material, long load drops, or sharp edges will be prevalent. Legg Company’s GI-P is formulated to exceed the requirements of the RMA. It is a blend of SBR and natural rubber and is an excellent compound.
FF (Force Field) : is a very abrasion resistant compound. Specially formulated for high abrasion applications. We like to think of the GI-P as the off road cut and gouge resistant cover compound, well, the Force Field is the Semi truck tire compound, design for small granular abrasive material, meant to go the long haul.
VOR (Very Oil Resistant) : is a pure compound that has maximum oil resistance. It is used where there is an excess of oil or oily products being conveyed.
GH (Grain Handler) : is engineered for use in the grain elevator industry where the static conductive fire retardant belt is needed. GRAIN HANDLER is moderately oil resistance compound ideal for conveying whole grains such as corn and wheat. It is not recommended when handling oil seeds such as canola or shelled sunflowers more than 25% of the time. A very good belt for general elevator use.
GHS (Grain Handler Supreme) : ): is a compound formulated for oilier applications in the grain industry. The 10% oil swell of the GHS’s pure nitrile composition makes it ideal for applications such as the conveying of crushed canola. The GHS is also well suited for use with moderate to heavy oil dust suppression systems. It is ideal in oil pressing facilities exclusively handling oil seeds or milled oil seeds.
CSA TYPE C : is a compound, that when used in selected carcass’s will allow the belt to meet the requirements of the Canadian Safety Association’s Type C flame retardant test.
